Today Im going to show you how to install Putcos new G2 LED Day Liner. First thing you want to do is lay out the tools youll need for this installation. These are the tools needed for the SuperDuty, a 10mm ratchet and a flathead screwdriver. Next step is you want to remove the grill to give better access to the headlight bolts that are located behind it. Now that the four bolts have been removed from the top, theres one clip on the side that attaches the cover. Pull that out.
And then theres five clips at the bottom of the grill that attach it to the radio support. Just push down on them with the flathead and theyll pop out. Now that the grill has been removed, theres four bolts that attach the headlight to the vehicle. Theres one on top, two inside by the radiator and one on the bottom. Now that all the bolts are out the headlight, go ahead and pull forward to remove it.
Also, remove the connectors on the back. Now that the headlight has been removed, use the supplied alcohol prep pad that is included in the kit. This will ensure good adhesion between the G2 Day Liner and the headlight. Now that the surface has been prepped, go and peel the backing on the back of the G2 Day Liner. Now you can attach the G2 Day Liner to the headlight.
Make sure its properly aligned. Now that the new G2 LED Day Liner has been installed onto the headlight, its now time to wire it up. Using the brown connector, were going to connect the black wire of the Day Liner to the black wire with the purple stripe on the connector and the red wire of the Day Liner to the yellow wire with the blue stripe on the connector. Using the T-taps provided in the kit, go ahead and make your electrical connections. Now that the new G2 LED Day Liner has been installed, its now time to reverse the assembly process to complete the installation.
Now its time to bolt in the headlight. After the headlights bolted in, go ahead and reassemble the grill. Now that the installation is complete, enjoy your new Putco G2 LED Day Liner.
