Today Im going to show you how to install Putcos new G2 LED Day Liner. First thing you want to do is lay out the tools for doing your first installation on this Dodge Ram. You will need 10mm ratchet, a pry bar and a flathead screwdriver. Your next step in this installation process is to use the pry bar and pry it up on the clips. After the top cover has been removed, remove the four bolts that attach the top of the grill to the radio support. After the four top bolts have been removed, theres two clips on both sides of the grill.
Pull straight out and they will release. Once the grill has been removed, theres two 10mm bolts attaching the headlight to the radio support. Go ahead and remove those. Down in the wheel well area, theres an access door behind the headlights. Its attached with one clip.
Using the flathead screwdriver, pull that clip back. Once the clip has been removed, push the access door back and there is a clip holding the headlight in, reach in and push it up. Now its time to remove the headlight from the vehicle. Simply release it by pulling forward. With the headlight removed, go ahead and remove the factory connectors.
Now that the headlight has been removed, use the alcohol prep pad that is included in the kit to prep the surface. This will ensure good adhesion between the headlight and the new G2 LED Day Liner.Now that the headlight is prepped, go ahead and peel the backing on the back of the G2 LED Day Liner. Now that the 3M backing has been filled, go ahead and attach it to your headlight. Make sure to line it up so its even on both sides. Now that the G2 Day Liner is installed onto the headlight, its now time to wire it up.
Using the black wire of the Day Liner, go to the black wire of the black connector and the red wire of the Day Liner to the white wire with the brown stripe on the black connector. Using the T-taps provided in the kit, go ahead and make your electrical connections. Now that the new G2 LED Day Liner has been wired up, its now time to reconnect the connectors and install the headlight. Now that the new G2 LED Day Liner has been installed, its now time to reverse the assembly process to complete the installation. Now that the installation is complete, enjoy your new Putco G2 LED Day Liner.
