Today Im going to show you how to install Putcos new G2 LED Day Liner. First thing you want to do is lay out the tools youll need for this installation. These are the tools for the Tahoe. Set of pliers, 7mm ratchet, 10mm ratchet and a flathead screwdriver. Now you're going to want to remove the six 10mm bolts attaching the grill to the radio support. Now that the six bolts have been removed, its time to remove the two 10mm bolts holding the headlight to the radio support.
Now that the two headlight bolts have been removed, its now time to gain access to the back of the headlight through the rear well. It helps a little bit if you turn the wheel to the left so you gain better access. There are two 7mm bolts and four clips that youll have to remove. After the thinner wire has been pulled back, theres a 10mm bolt attaching the headlight inside the thunder. Go ahead and remove that.
Next you want to remove the two 10mm bolts holding the bumper to the thunder. Now its time to remove the headlight from the vehicle. It helps to have an extra pair of hands to pull the bumper down when removing. Next, on the back of the headlight, theres only one connector youll have to undo. Now that the headlight has been removed from the vehicle, its now time to prep the surface with the supplied alcohol prep pad.
This will ensure good adhesion between the headlight and the new G2 LED Day Liner. Now that the surface has been prepped, its now time to peel the 3M backing. After the back has been peeled, its now time to attach it to the headlight making sure that its properly aligned. After the Day Liner has been installed onto the headlight, its now time to wire it up using the main connector to the headlight. The red wire of the Day Liner goes to the brown wire on the connector and the black wire of the Day Liner goes to the black wire on the connector.
Using the T-taps supplied in the kit, its now time to make your electrical connections. Now that the headlight has been reinstalled back into the vehicle, its now time to reverse the assembly process to complete the installation. Now that the installation is complete, enjoy your new Putco G2 LED Day Liners.
