Today on our 2012 Ford Edge, we'll be test fitting the Yakima StickUp 2 Bike Hitch Mounted Folding Bike Rack for both 1-1/4 and 2-inch hitches, part number Y02420. Now to begin our test fit, we'll simply slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole, and install and tighten down our anti-rattle bolt. And with the bolt tight, our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. We'll now go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 11 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 2 inches. We'll now go ahead and unfold the bike rack platform and open our cargo door.
And as you can se, we can gain full access to the cargo area, opening the door completely with this bike. Now, to load our bike, we'll need to bring the vertical bar up on our bike rack. We'll pull the pin, brign the bar up, and allow the pin to lock the bar in place. We'll then need to make sure that our top bar clamp is fully extended and that our wheel loop strap is undone and out of the way. We can then place the bike into the bike rack and bring out top bar clamp down over the top bar of our bike.
We'll move back here to the wheel mount where we'll put the strap through the wheel and secure it on the other side. And there you have it, our bike is loaded and we're ready to head on down the road. And that completes our test fit of the Yakima StickUp 2 Bike Hitch Mounted Folding Bike Rack, part number Y02420 on our 2012 Ford Edge.
