Today we're going to be test fitting the Yakima RailGrab Roof Rack for models with factory installed roof rails on our 2012 Kia Sedona. With our bars already preassembled we'll go ahead and fit them to the vehicle. We'll begin by placing the front bar towards the front of the vehicle on the side bars. We'll want to find a fixed point on the side rails to measure from. We'll measure from that fixed point to the leading edge of the foot. With both feet in the same position we can go ahead and make sure that the crossbar is centered with the vehicle from left to right.
We'll then tighten down the black Allen bolt which will clamp the foot to the side bar. With the foot firmly attached to the side bars we'll then tighten down the silver Allen bolt to tighten the crossbar to the rack tower. And that will secure our front crossbar to the vehicle. We'll now move on and fit the rear crossbar the same way except for with our measurement we are going to measure from the middle of the front crossbar to the middle of the rear crossbar remembering not to exceed a maximum crossbar spread of 35 inches. With our crossbar spread where we want it, we can go ahead and tighten down the black Allen screw securing the tower to the side bar.
With the towers tight we can make sure our crossbar is centered from left to right on the vehicle, we'll then tighten down the silver Allen bolt to secure the crossbar to the towers. And with that our test fit is completed and our roof rack is ready to be loaded with accessories. And that completes our test fit of the Yakima RailGrab Roof Rack System, part numbers Y00408 and Y00138 on our 2012 Kia Sedona.
