Alright, today on a 2012 Honda CRV were going to do a test fit of the Yakima Roof Rack system. Well be using the 58 inch low bars, part number Y00409, the Q99 Q clips, and the Q83 Q clips and finally the Yakima Q towers. Were going to start with our low bars already assembled according to the instructions, so all Ive got to do is place them on the vehicle.First off, well go ahead and open up the front car doors, then well go ahead and place our first roof rack in place. Okay to put them in the right spot were going to measure from the edge of the windshield to the leading edge of the control tower. Now always go by your manufacturers instructions, however in this case well be using measurement of 10 inches. Okay, next well go ahead and make sure that the roof rack is sitting even from left to right. With the first bar in place well go ahead and attach it to the vehicle.
Well make sure that the Q clip sits securely on the edge of the roof line and then well take the thumb screw on the inside to take up the slack and then well latch it down and well alternate back and forth until we get proper tension on each side. And to help make sure that you have proper tension on the bars, there are two marks located just underneath the crossbar that you want to aim for. Okay Now well go ahead and repeat the same process on the second bar, however, to put that in the right spot well measure from the center of the first bar to center of the second bar. And that measurement will be 32 inches, and just like the first cross bar well make sure its even from left to right and then tighten it down.Okay, and finally well go ahead and get a measurement of how much height was added to the roof. Its about 4 inches high and the antenna in the back is still the highest point on the vehicle. Okay, and with that thatll finish it for our test of the Yakima roof rack system on our 2012 Honda CRV..
