Today on our 2011 Hyundai Accent, we'll be test fitting the Yakima Q Tower Roof Rack System using part numbers Y00699, Y00124, and Y00408. To begin our test fit. We'll simply open all four doors on our vehicle. We can then set the front crossbar on top of the roof. In order to find the location for our front crossbar, we will need to do a measurement. We'll measure from the top of the windshield back on our roof, 6 inches.
This will be the location of the leading edge of our crossbar tower on both sides. Once we found the location for our front crossbar, we can tighten it down, securing it to our roof. We'll now move on to the rear crossbar. For the rear crossbar, again, we'll set it on top of our roof. This time, our measurement will be taken from the center of the front crossbar to the center of the rear crossbar.
This measurement will be 32 inches. This then put your rear crossbar in the correct position as stated by Yakima. It will also help the keep the rear crossbar parallel with the front crossbar for ease of loading your accessories. With our rear crossbar secured using the same procedure that we did with the front, our roof rack system is secured to the vehicle and we're ready to load our accessories.
