Well fit the clamp at the head of the bike rack around our front crossbar and use the hand knob to tighten it down. Then well move to the rear of the bike carrier. Well fit that clamp around our rear crossbar and use the t-bolt and wing nut to tighten it down.
With that done, were ready to load up a bike. Well make sure that the front wheel hoop is open and the back wheel hoop is laying flat. We also want to make sure that our wheel strap at the rear of the bike carriers open. Well pick up our bike, set it on the wheel tray, and push the front wheel forward into the wheel hoop. Well bring the rear hoop up behind the back of the wheel and hold it snug while we tighten down the red hand knob.
Once weve secured the bike by the front wheel, well move to the back and use the wheel strap on the rear to secure it. With that, our bikes all loaded up and were ready to hit the road. Thats it for our test fit of the Yakima Frontloader roof-mounted bike carrier, part number Y02103 on our 2008 Toyota RAV4.
