Today on our 2000 Volkswagen Beetle, we'll be test fitting the Yakima FrontLoader Wheel Mount Bike Carrier, part number Y02103. Now, our vehicle is already equipped with the Yakima Q Towers Roof Rack System, so we're ready to begin our test fit. We'll simply face the bike rack on our crossbars. We'll make sure that the head of the bike rack is over the front crossbar. We'll then move to the rear crossbar where we'll make sure that the rear clamp is directly over the top of the rear crossbar. We want to make sure that we give the bike rack a slight thud to ensure that the front head of the bike rack fits snug on the front crossbar.
We can then go ahead and tighten down the rear clamp, securing it to the rear crossbar. We'll move back up to the front at the head of the bike rack and tighten the black wing nut on the front of the head, securing it to the front crossbar. With our bike secured to the vehicle, we're ready to load our bike. We'll need only to make sure that the front wheel loop is fully extended and that the rear wheel strap is undone and out of the way. We'll place the bike into the wheel loop and roll it forward, making sure that the rear of the front wheel hoop follows the front wheel up.
We can then tighten down the red knob on the back of the head of the bike rack, securing the bike to the bike rack. We'll move back to the rear wheel where we'll put the strap through the wheel and secure it on the other side of the bike rack. And there you have it, our bike is loaded and we're ready to hit the road. And that completes our test fit of the Yakima FrontLoader Wheel Mount Bike Carrier, part number Y02103, on our 2000 Volkswagen Beetle.
