Review of a Yakima ForkLift Roof Mounted Bike Rack on a 2012 Honda CR-V

All right, today on this 2012 Honda CR-V, we're going to do a test fit of part number Y02098 from Yakima. This is the forklift roof mounted bike carrier. Now our Honda's already been equipped with a Yakima roof rack system and a bicycle rack who's already been assembled according to the instructions so all I got to do is place it on the roof rack. We'll start off by placing the front half of the bicycle rack with your front bar and then we'll go ahead and put the clamp onto it and route it underneath the bar and then loosely secure it. Then we'll go ahead and do the same process for the clamp at the back bar. All right, now we'll go ahead and take a second to make sure the roof rack is in the spot we wanted and make sure it's even in a straight line going front to rear.

All right Once we have the bike rack in its final position, we'll go ahead and tighten it down. We'll make sure every tabs on the handle are pointing front to rear from the front clamp and then we'll go ahead and slide the cover on over the handle. Then we can go ahead and install the skewer. We'll make sure the skewer is operating correctly, then when can go ahead and load up the bike. Make sure the skewer is in the open position and the strap for the back wheel is out of the way.

Okay And we'll load up the bike, we'll put the fork into the skewer, and then make sure the back wheel is on the track in the back and the strap goes through it. Then we'll go ahead and tighten down the skewer on the fork and then secure the strap in the back. Okay, and that's what it takes to load up the bike. And with that, that'll finish it for our test fit of part number Y02098 from Yakima. The forklift roof mounted bike carrier on our 2012 Honda CR-V..
