Review of the Yakima FatCat Ski and Snowboard Carrier on a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta

Today on a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta we are going to do a test fit of the Yakima FatCat 6 ski and snowboard carrier part number Y03078. This will be on top of our round bar roof rack system. I have already got my carrier set up and hardware installed, so let us go ahead and do the test fit on the vehicle. We will start by tightening down the lower clamps. Once we have the lower clamps tightened down we will go ahead and open the carrier, then we will tighten down the level of adjustment once we get it squared up to the vehicle. Now that I have got my front carrier mounted and tightened down, I will go ahead and install the rear carrier.

When installing the rear carrier, we just want to make sure that you keep the centered with the front carrier, then we will go ahead and tighten it down just like we did with the front carrier. Alright, that does it for the installation of our FatCat 6. Let us go ahead and install a set of skis and a snowboard so we can see what it looks like on the vehicle. Alright with our snowboard and skis installed, we can go ahead and close the carriers and we are ready to hit the road. That does it for our test fit of the FatCat 6 skis and snowboard carrier on top of our Yakima round bar roof rack system for our 2011 Volkswagen Jetta.

Thule Flat Top Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review - 2012 Volkswagen Jetta

Today we have a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta, and well be test fitting the Thule Flat Top Ski and Snowboard Carrier, part number TH92725. To install our carrier, well take the first half and place it on top of our front load bar. Well wrap the rubber straps around the bar and re-secure them to the clamp. Well move back and forth from driver side to passenger side to tighten the carrier down. With the front half of the carrier in place, well repeat the same procedure back in the rear. With both halves of our carrier secured on the roof bars, we can go ahead and load up our skis and snowboards.
