Today in this 2012 GMC Canyon were going to install the Hopkins 4-Pole Wiring Kit part# 41165. The 4-Pole Wiring Kit installs in line with the manufacturer's wiring. First we'll disconnect the manufacturer's plug here above the spare tire, now we can go ahead and take our new 4-Pole Connector and plug it in line with the manufacturer's wiring. Once we get it plugged in we can go ahead and route our wiring and mount the converter box. To mount the converter box I'm just going to use a black zip tie and attach it directly to the frame. Then I can route my 4-Pole Connector over to the hitch.
Today in this 2012 GMC Canyan were going to install the Tow-Ready T-One Connector part # 118301. Our first step is to get underneath the vehicle and disconnect the manufacturer's connection to the rear tail lights. This connector here above the spare tire on the driver side is the one we'll need to disconnect and take our Tow-Ready connector and plug it in line with it, just like that. Now we need to take our white wire with the ring terminal which is our ground wire and make our connection there. For this application there's already a ground stud to the frame here above the spare tire. I'm going to go ahead and take out bolt and add my white wire with the ring terminal.
Today we are going to be installing wiring harness part number 118301 on a 2007 GMC Canyon. All right, we are underneath the vehicle now, and we have removed the spare tire to gain a little more access. Over here on the drivers side frame rail, we are at the rear end, where the first cross member meets the frame, you can see the plug-in right here. And that is the plug that we are going to be using to plug our T-harness into. To disconnect the harness, we just want to depress the button here and pull them apart. And then we simply want to take our T-connector and plug it in line. You want to push it in until you hear the click.
