Today on this 2011 Ford Van, we're going to install part number 37185. This is the 4-Pole and 7-Pole Adapters. This adapter also has the 4-pole located on the side of the socket. We're also going to use part number 18136, the Universal Mounting Bracket to attach it to the hitch. To start off our install, we're going to take the mounting bracket and clamp it to the hitch and then we'll take the 7-pole bracket that comes with the wiring adapter. We'll attach it to that.
Once those two pieces are attached to the vehicle, then we'll go ahead and take our 4-pole adapter and attach it back to the bracket using the provided hardware. Now, we'll take a moment to tape up our wires. Now, the blue and the black wire, and the purple wire will not get used on this install. With the wires taped up, we'll go ahead and plug the two 4-pole ends together. We'll put a little dot of grease between the two to help preserve the contacts then we'll secure the two halves, and then we'll take our white wire with a ring terminal and ground that to the frame.
To secure our ground, we'll be using 11/14 self-tapping screw then we'll go ahead and secure the rest of our wires and we'll be finished. With everything secured, that will finish it for our install of part number 37185 on our 2011 Ford E-350.
