Today on our 2008 Chevy Uplander well be installing the Tow Ready T1 connector part #: 118396. To begin our installation well first need to open up the rear cargo door. Then well remove the two fasteners securing the driver side taillight assembly. As you pull and pry the taillight assembly away from the vehicle be careful not to break the alignment tabs that are hidden in behind the lens assembly. Next well go ahead and remove the manufactures connection to the taillight assembly. Simply press on the lock of the connector and pull it away from the assembly.
Well go ahead and set that aside for reinstallation later. Now well take the new Tow Ready T1 connector and plug it in line with the manufactures wiring. Next well take the green and white wire connector along with the new four pole connector and feed them down between the bumper face and the body of the vehicle. Once we have the wires pulled from underneath the vehicle we can go ahead and connect the taillight assembly to the other end of our yellow and brown wire connector and reinstall the driver side taillight assembly. Next, Ill move over to the passenger side and remove the passenger side taillight assembly in the same way we just did the driver side.
Next, well get underneath the vehicle and rout our green and white wire over to the passenger side and feed it up the taillight assembly in the opposite manner than we did on the driver side. Then we can go ahead and connect our green and white wire to the manufactures on the passenger side and take our white wire with the preformed ring terminal using our self-tapping screw and attach our ground to the body of the vehicle. Next, well take the other end of our green and white wire connector and connect it to the passenger side taillight assembly and reinstall it. Now lets go ahead and get back underneath the vehicle complete routing our wires and well go ahead and secure them using black zip ties. When youre routing your wires you need to be especially mindful of the excessive heat such as the exhaust or moving components such as the steering or suspension.
In this case weve got a little extra wire so well go ahead and secure it here to the top of the hitch so that its out of the way. Now to clean up our install look well just go back with a pair of side cutters and cut off any excess from our zip ties. And that will complete the install of our Tow Ready T1 connector part #: 118396 on our 2008 Chevy Uplander.
Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2006 Chevrolet Uplander

Today on this 2006 Chevrolet Uplander we are going to be installing wiring harness part number 118396. The ports that we are going to be plugging our wiring harness into are located behind the tail light assemblies on both the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle. The first thing we are going to do is remove both of the tail light assemblies. To do that we need to remove the inboard side screws that you can see once you have lifted up your cargo door. With those screws removed if you gently rock the tail light assembly back and forth you should be able to release the outboard side clips as well. If you look on the back side of it you can see the port that we are going to be plugging our wiring harness into. To separate the two halves there is a little release button on the top side. You just want to press that in and pull it away from the tail light. 00:48

Today on this 2006 Chevrolet Uplander we are going to install part number 118396, the t-one wiring harness from Tow Ready. We are also going to install part number 37185, the adapter 4-pole to 7 and 4-pole multi-tool connector. The first step that we are going to do is go ahead and open up the hatch of this vehicle and remove both taillights. Alright and this is our connection point right here. And we are going disconnect. Push down on this tab here and it comes apart. We are going to repeat the same process on the passenger side. Are next step is to take the t-one wiring harness and the 4-pole part. We are going to tuck it behind the bumper here. Have it out of the bottom so we can pull it over by the hitch. And then we are going to take our connection with the yellow and brown wires and we are going to install that on to the wire harness that comes out from the van. So let us go ahead and snap those two together. We are going to leave that be for now. And then our connection with the green wire, that is going to get routed on to the other side of the vehicle, on the passenger side. So we are just going to take this and just tuck it on down and pull it out the bottom too. With this, we are just going to go ahead and reinstall our taillight and hook up the taillight electrical to this connection right here and reinstall the whole taillight assembly back onto the vehicle. 1:13
Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2006 Chevy Uplander

First well open up the rear door and start disassembling the tail lights and take them off the body. Well go ahead and take off one of the tail lights here. There are two torque bolts that need to be taken out and light pops off from the housing. Okay the lights are off so now its time to start installing the wire. What well do is push the four pole through the cavity between the bumper and the body and out the bottom plus the end for the passengers side too. Well leave the end for the drivers side tail light up in the air, well make the connections with the harness and the tail light. With the drivers side tail light re-installed, pull out all your slack on your line here, what well do next is thread it through behind these bumper brackets. Well go across all four of them, what well do is take some extra zip ties and tie it to that so they wont be dangling and in the way. Now that we have gotten to the other side of the vehicle, well take our T-1 connector passenger side end and push it up the pocket and pull it out the other side. Now well pull the harness out of the cavity and go ahead and make our connections. While were at it well take up a little bit of slack by using the zip tie to tie the wire to itself. While were her well install our ground wire. Now we re-install our passenger light.
