Today on our 2005 Jeep Wrangler, we're going to install Part # 118409 from Tow Ready. The first thing we have to do is look underneath the vehicle, we're looking at the driver side and we need to remove this panel underneath here. A little plastic with it, we can remove like move the panel out of the way. Our connection point will be wrap up and tape right here. Pull this and remove the tape and disconnect it. When there's a tab, you have to push down so you can pull the part.
We can demonstrate that tab with a new connector with a T1 harness. This is about what we're looking for on the factory connector. We'll take our T-connector with the yellow wire and attach it. Push it until it snaps on both sides. Now, we're going to go ahead and run our purple wire over to the center of the hitch so we'll take our T-connector with the green wire and run it all the way across and go over to the passenger side taillight.
To pull back the white wire with the red terminal for ground just a little bit before it takes a T-connector running up on the taillight. Now this connection will be a lot harder to find. Now, we'll take a ground wire and we'll attach directly to the frame using the self-tapping screw. Now you can go ahead and reinstall our panels and then secure the wires. With all the wires secured, that will finish it for our install Part # 118409 from Tow Ready on our 2005 Jeep Wrangler..
