Today on our 2003 Subaru Forester we're going to install the Tow Ready T1 Connector, part number 118461. First we'll need to access the rear cargo area. Then we're gonna open up the access to the spare tire. Alright, next on the passenger's side we're gonna go ahead and remove the spare tire tools and there's a fastener here to remove this panel. This exposes us to the rear trailer connector that we're looking for. So this application is been wrapped in blue tape.
We'll go ahead and remove the blue tape. Alright, now that we've exposed the manufacturer's connection point we'll take our new Tow Ready Connector that matches our manufacturer's connection and plug them directly into it. Make sure you press them together firmly enough to lock in place. You'll notice the red fuse holder that's built in line with the Tow Ready Connector. Should at any point your 4-pole connection stopped working this is a good place to check first.
Now let's go ahead and route our wiring to the opened cavity here behind the body panels. Let's tuck our wiring in behind the body panels following the manufacturer's leaving our excess in the spare tire well. Now we can go ahead and reinstall the trim panels. And that will complete the install of our new Tow Ready Connector. Let's go ahead and show you how to use it.
Once you need your new 4-pole connector to run out to your hitch or accessory we'll simply run it outside of the cargo area and then outside of the cargo door as we can close the door on the wire as the weather stripping is thick enough that it won't harm the wire. However, do stay away from the latch as pinching off in the latch can damage the wire. Then we'll simply close the cargo door on our new 4-pole connector and it's ready to be used with our hitch or accessory. Then once we're done using it, we'll simply reopen the cargo door, roll up our wire, and store it underneath the spare tire cover down in the spare tire well. And that will complete the install of our new Tow Ready T1 Connector, part number 118461 on our 2003 Subaru Forester..

Today on our 2003 Subaru Forester we're going to install the Hopkins 4-Pole Wiring Kit, part number 33855. First we'll need to access the rear cargo area. Then we're going to open up the access to the spare tire. Trailer Wiring Harness Installation - 2011 Subaru Forester
Today working on a 2011 Subaru Forester, were going to install a Tow-Ready T-One Connector part# 118467. Go ahead and remove the cargo cover, were going to remove the center foam tray and the driver's side foam tray to access the wiring underneath. And you see it gives us access to the manufacturer's trailer wiring. Now we can take our new Tow-Ready Connector and plug it into the manufacturers connection port. With our port connected we need to mount our converter box, we'll peel back the cover of the two-side adhesive and mount it to the sheet metal. Were mounting it to the sheet metal make sure you've got a good flat clean surface.

Today on this 2009 Subaru Forester we are going to be installing wiring harness part number 118467. We are at the rear of the vehicle and the port that we are going to need to plug our wiring harness into is located inside the cargo area underneath the floor board over here on the driver side of the vehicle. We are going to need to remove quite a few pieces to gain access to the port. The driver side styrofoam has a few retaining fasteners holding it in to position. Today on this 2010 Subaru Forester we are going to be installing wiring harness part number 118467. We are in the rear cargo area of the Forester and we want to locate the port that we are going to be plugging our wiring harness into. This port is located underneath the cargo floor over on the driver side of the vehicle. We are going to need to remove a few pieces before we can get started. We obviously need to remove the covering not only in the center section but on the driver side as well. Then we need to remove the styrofoam storage bin on both the center and driver side sections as well.
