Installation of a Trailer Hitch on a 2012 Nissan Quest

Today on our 2012 Nissan Quest, well be installing Hidden Hitch part number 87609. Here are a few measurements that will help you when selecting accessories such as a draw bar, cargo carrier or a bike rack. From the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 10 inches and from the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost point of the bumper is 4 inches. Now well go ahead with our install. Now to begin our installation, well need to lower our exhaust system here at the rubber isolator. Using a spray lubricant, we can spray the isolator down and remove it with a pry bar or, in this case, with our exhaust hanger remover tool.

Next well need to remove the two bolts on the tie-down on the driver side. Well set those aside as we will not be reusing them. With the exhaust out of the way and the two bolts remove on the driver side, well point out the mounting points. Well use these three weld nuts on the driver side and these three on the passenger side. Well now need to clean the threads for our weld nuts.

Well use a -inch nylon tube brush and a rust penetrant. The nylon tube brush is part number 814092. With all our weld nuts cleaned out, we can raise our hitch of the exhaust and install the bolt on the passenger side. Itd be a good idea to get an extra set of hands this time to help you hold the hitch in place while we install our fasteners. On the passenger side well be using the bolt and conical tooth washer to install our hitch.

Here on the driver side, before putting our hitch into place, well need to tape three spacers together. Well also need to tape 5 flat washers together. Theyll go between the hitch and the frame of the vehicle. We can then use the spacer, a flat washer and our lock washer all on our bolt to feed it up through the hitch and the spacers and three it in through our weld nut. And well repeat this process for the two remaining fasteners on the driver side.

Now that we have all our fasteners in place, we can go ahead and tighten them down and torque to specifications as indicated in the instructions. With all our fasteners torqued to specification, we can reattach the exhaust which will complete our installation of Hidden Hitch part number 87609 on our 2012 Nissan Quest. .

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2012 Nissan Quest - Draw-Tite

Today on our 2012 Nissan Quest, well be installing Draw-Tite Hitch part number 75714. From the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 10 inches and from the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost point of the bumper is 4 inches. Now well go ahead with our install. Trailer Hitch Installation - 2007 Nissan Quest

Today on this 2007 Nissan Quest mini van we will be installing Valley hitch part number V82760. We are underneath the vehicle now and we are actually taking a look at the driver side frame rail. We have got four existing weld nuts visible on the frame rail. Using the three rear most ones as our attaching points for the trailer hitch. To attach our hitch to those weld nuts we will be using the 12 millimeter bolts along with the conical tooth washers that are provided with our hitch installation kit. That is going to be the same on both the driver and passenger sides. However, if you look over at the passenger side you will notice that our exhaust is in the way. So we are going to need to lower that first before we put the hitch up in position. It looks like we are going to remove it off of its two rear most hangers. The rear most hanger is located right in the middle of the muffler itself on the outboard side and then if you follow the exhaust pipe forward to the first cross member you will see we have got our second hanger that we are going to be removing the exhaust off of. 00:57
