Toyota Venza Trailer Hitch

Installation of a Trailer Hitch on a 2011 Toyota Venza

Today on our 2011 Toyota Venza, well be installing the Draw-Tite Hitch, part number 75663. This is what our hitch will look like once its installed. Next well go ahead and give you a couple of measurements to assist you with selecting accessories for your new hitch such as a draw bar, bike rack, or a cargo carrier. From the center of the hitch pin the hole, the outside edge of the bumper is 4, from the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 13. Now lets go ahead with the installation. Before we install the hitch lets go ahead and point out our attachment points.

Weve got two here, well remove the stickers, uncover well nuts in the frame and our third attachment point here on the driver side will be the weld nut that currently has a bolt in it securing the sway bar bracket. So our first step will be to remove the rear sway bar bracket, hang onto the nut of the lower sway bar bracket mount as we will be reusing it when we install the hitch. Next we will go ahead and remove the two stickers covering up the weld nuts for our middle and rear attachment points keeping in mind each process we do to one side we again repeat identically on the other. Over time these weld nuts can become built up with dirt, dust, debride, and rust, so it may be necessary to clean out, to do this we use a little spray lubricant and half inch nylon tube brush part number 814092 and thoroughly clean the weld nut out. We will now go ahead and remove the four bolts securing the two exhaust hangers two on each side so we can lower the exhaust.

Now with those bolts removed were ready to go ahead and install the hitch. We will be securing the hitch using the new 10 mm bolts along with the conical toothed washers with the teeth of the washer facing the hitch. Keep in mind that when we install the forward fastener well also be re-securing the rear sway bar bracket. The lower sway bar bracket mount well be adding a spacer block and reusing the manufactures nut. Now with all of our fasteners installed we can go ahead and tighten them down.

Next we will go ahead and torque to specifications as indicated in the instructions. Now with that completed we can go ahead and reinstall the exhaust and that will complete the install of the Ddraw-Tite Hitch, part number 75663 on our 2011 Toyota Venza.
