Today on our 2011 Toyota Corolla, well be installing the Curt Class 1 Hitch part number 11266. Here are a few measurements to help you with selecting accessories. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost edge of the bumper is 6 inches. From the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 11 inches. Now well go ahead with our installation. To begin, well locate our attachment points.
On the 2011 Corolla, youll notice that the vehicle has two tow hooks located on the frame. Well need to remove those tow hooks as those will be the location for the mounting point of our hitch. Well start by removing the driver side tow hooks which will expose the weld nuts that will be our attachment point on our hitch. Now on the passenger side, well repeat the same procedure. Now with our four attachment points exposed, were ready to go ahead and mount our hitch.
Well need our conical tooth washer with the teeth of the washer facing the hitch and our bolt. Now there are four of each of these within the install kit. At this time, itd probably be a good idea to get an extra set of hands to help us hold the hitch while we install our fasteners. And with the holes lined up with the weld nuts in the frame, we can go ahead and install the bolt, remembering to keep the conical tooth washer tooth-side towards the hitch. And well go ahead and get the bolt finger tight until all our fasteners are in place.
With all our fasteners finger tight, well go ahead and tighten them down and torque them to specifications as indicated in the instructions. Now that all four fasteners are torqued to specifications, our hitch is installed and that does it for Curt Hitch part number 11266 on our 2011 Toyota Corolla. .
Trailer Hitch Installation - 2012 Toyota Corolla - Curt
Today on our 2012 Toyota Corolla we'll be installing the Curt hitch, part number C11295. This is what our hitch will look once it's installed. Next we'll go ahead and give you a couple of measurements to assist you when selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outer most edge of the bumper is 5 1/4 inches. From the top of the inside of the receiver tube opening to the ground is 10 inches. This will assist when selecting accessories such as a bike rack or a cargo carrier.
