Today on our 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe, we're going to install Hidden Hitch, part number 90212. This is what our hitch will look like once it's installed. Next, we'll go ahead and give you a couple of measurements to assist you in selecting accessories for your new hitch. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of the bumper is 3-1/4 inches. From the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 13 inches. This will assist you in selecting accessories such as a drawbar, a bike rack, or a cargo carrier.
Now, let's go ahead with the installation. Before we install our hitch, we'll first go ahead and point out our attachment points here on the frame rails. Our attachment points will be these weld nuts here and here. Keep in mind, each process we do here on the driver's side is going to get repeated identically on the passenger's side. Before we attempt to install our hitch, we'll go ahead and clean out the weld nuts because over time they'll build up with dust, dirt and debris.
Taking some spray lubricant and a 1/2-inch nylon tube brush, part number 814092, we can thoroughly clean out the threads of the weld nut then we'll go ahead and take one of our new fasteners and just hand thread it into the weld nut to make sure its going to go nice and easily. Now, we'll go ahead and repeat the same process for the other three attachment points. Now with all the weld nuts cleaned out, we're ready to go ahead and install the hitch. It's a good idea to get an extra set of hands to help you hold the hitch in place while you install your fasteners, which will be the new 10-mm bolt and 7/16 conical toothed washer with the teeth of the washer facing the hitch. Install each fastener finger tight.
With each fastener installed, we can go back and run them down. Next, we'll go ahead and torque each fastener to specifications as indicated in the instructions. And that completes the install of our Hidden Hitch, part number 90212 on our 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe.
