Today on this 2011 Ford E250 Van were going to be installing part number 14055 from Curt. All right, this is what the hitch looks like when its installed on the van. Well go ahead and give you some measurements to help you out in selecting some accessories such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the top of the receiver opening down to the ground will be 19-1/2 inches and from the center of the hitch pin hole to the edge of the bumper is going to be 5-1/2 inches. Now well go ahead and move on to our installation. Here were going to start off underneath the vehicle and were going to point out the mounting holes that well be using to attach the hitch to the vehicle.
Starting over here on the drivers side of the vehicle, you could see we have multiple holes here in the end of the frame. We are going to be using the two rear most holes as our two rearmost attachment points. The fifth hole or the forward most hole will be our final attachment point, the same thing for our passengers side as well. Into each of these holes were going to install a 1/2-inch carriage bolt along with a 1-1/2 by 2-inch block. Well put these two parts together and well go ahead and set them into the holes from the top down.
In the middle attachment point well need to add a flat washer thats going to sit between the extra space between the hitch and a frame. Now with all our hardware installed we can go ahead and lift up the hitch in position. Its a good idea to have an extra set of hands to help hold up the hitch while you install the hardware. With the hitch up in position, then we can go ahead and tighten down all the bolts and then we can go ahead and torque the bolts as specified in the instructions. With that that will finish it for our install of part number 14055 on our 2011 Ford E250 Van..
