Installation of a Trailer Hitch on a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado

Today on our 2011 Chevy Silverado well install our Hidden Hitch part 87430. Here are a couple of measurements that will assist you in selecting accessories for you new hitch. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost part of the bumper 2 inches, from the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is 20 inches. Now lets go ahead with the installation. Now, weve gone ahead and raised the vehicle and removed the spare tire. This will make it easier to get our hitch in place.

Now we need to remove two rear frame fasteners, one on each side. Everything we do here on the driver side, were gonna repeat identically on the passenger side. Were ready to put our hitch in place. Its a good idea to get an extra set of hands. Well be using new 14 mm bolt along with a 9/16 lock washer and then well add a 9/16 flat washer.

Lets go ahead and put our hitch in place. I recommend install each of your fasteners finger tight until you get them all in place. Now well go ahead and use the same hardware setup to install the center tube bumper attachment. Well go through the hitch directly into the bumper where theres a weld nut for our attachment. With those fasteners in place on each side, we need to add two additional forward frame fasteners.

Well be using -inch carriage bolt and a block. The carriage bolt and block will drop down above the frame through the frame and through the hitch. Thatll be our center frame attachment point and well repeat it identically for the forward frame attachment point. Then well add a conical tooth washer with the teeth of the washer facing the hitch and -inch nut. With all our fasteners installed, well go ahead and tighten them down.

With all our fasteners tightened down, well go ahead and torque to specifications as indicated in instructions. With all our fasteners torqued into specifications, that will complete the install of our Hidden Hitch part number 87430 on our 2011 Chevy Silverado.
