

Today on our 2008 Toyota RAV4, we're going to install part number 75432 fromDraw-Tite. This is what your hitch looks like when it's installed on the vehicle. Next,we'll go ahead and give you some measurements that'll help you out in selecting someaccessories, such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack, or a cargo carrier. From the center ofthe hitch pin to the outside edge of the spare tire, the distance is going to be 6-1/4".From the top of the receiver opening, down to the ground, is going to be 12-1/4".I'll go ahead and show you how the hitch is installed. We're going to start off underneath the vehicle, and we're going to point out themounting holes that we'll be using to attach the hitch to the vehicle. The first thingwe're going to do is remove the tie-down brackets from the driver's side of the vehicle,and then we're going to clean out the remaining threaded holes in the frame.
We'llspray down some lubricant and use a brush to clean it out. We'll be using part number814092, and then run one of the hitch bolts in and out a few times to make sure thethreads are clean. Once the threads are cleaned out, we can go ahead and install our hitch. We'll installthe bolt with a conical tooth washer. We'll make sure that the teeth on our washer arefacing towards the hitch.
We'll loosely install all four bolts, and then we can go aheadand torque all the bolts down. With that, that will finish off our install of partnumber 75432 from Draw-Tite, on our 2008 Toyota RAV4. .

From the center of the hitch pinhole to the farthest south part of the vehicle which, in this case, is the spare tire thats mounted on the back of the RAV4, we have 10 inches and from the ground to the top of the receiver opening the measurements 15 5/8 inches. Now well go ahead with our installation. The first step is to remove the tow bracket on the driver side of the vehicle. The tow bracket and bolts that are holding it on will be returned to the owner and will not be reused.
