Today on our 2003 Jeep Liberty, well be installing Draw-Tite Hitch, part number 75128. Now, before we begin our install, here are some measurements to help you when selecting accessories. From the top of the receiver tube to the ground is 16-3/4 inches. From the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost part of the spare tire is 10 inches. Now, to begin our installation well go ahead and identify the six mounting points within the frame. These are all weld nuts.
There are three here on the passengers side as well as three here on the drivers side. With our mounting points located, well need to clean out the weld nut. Well use a spray lubricant and our nylon toothbrush here, part number 814092. With all six weld nuts cleaned out, were now ready to put our hitch into position. When installing the fasteners, well use a conical toothed washer with the teeth of the washer facing the hitch and the bolt.
It would be a good idea to get an extra set of hands to help you hold the hitch up while we install the fasteners. Once we have all six fasteners installed, we can go ahead and tighten them down and torque them to specifications as indicated in the instructions. With all the fasteners torque, that will complete our install of Draw-Tite Hitch, part number 75128 on our 2003 Jeep Liberty.
Blue Ox Base Plate Installation - 2010 Jeep Liberty
Today on our 2010 Jeep Liberty well be installing the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit with removable arms, part number bx1976. To begin our installation, well go ahead and turn the wheel all the way to the drivers side exposing the inner wheel well here on the passenger side. Here well remove three push pin tabs and two rivets. To remove the push pin tabs, well take a flat bladed screwdriver, pry the center of the tab out and then remove the entire tab. For the push pin rivets, you can attempt to cut off the head of the rivet, or like well do, well go ahead and drill the center out and then just pull out the rest of the rivet. Next well go ahead and pull the wheel liner back exposing a bolt up underneath the wheel liner that will need to be removed.
Trailer Hitch Installation - 2006 Jeep Liberty - Draw-Tite
Today on our 2006 Jeep Liberty, we'll be installing the Draw-Tite Hitch, Part Number 75128. This is what our hitch to look like once it's installed. From the center of the hitch pinhole to the outermost edge of the rear spare tire is 9-3/4 inches. From the top of the receiver tube opening to the ground is 15-3/4 inches. This will assist you in selecting accessories such as a drawbar, a bike rack or a cargo carrier.
