All right, today on this 2001 Pontiac Montana, we're going to install part number 87410 from Hidden Hitch. All right, this how the hitch will look like when it is installed on the vehicle. Next we'll give you some measurements to help you out in selecting for accessories, such as a boat mount, a bicycle rack or cargo carrier. From top of receiver opening down to ground is going to be 12-1/2 inches. And from the center of the hitch pin hole to outside the edge of the bumper is going to be 4-1/4 inches. Now we're going to show you how the hitch is installed.
First step is go ahead and loosen up the vehicle exhaust on the passenger side. Then we'll go ahead and remove one of the bolts for the compressor on the driver's side. Then we'll go ahead and raise the hitch into position where we'll be using M10 Bolts to hold the hitch up. All right, with the hitch secured to the vehicle now, we'll go ahead and use the hitch as a template to draw on our holes. We'll use 1/2-inch drill bit to mark the center of our holes.
Then we'll drill it out with a inaudible, then go back at it with a 1/2-inch bit. We'll now go ahead and remove the hitch. We'll allow the compression bracket to fall down a little bit, then we'll go ahead and slip the hitch between the compressor bracket and the frame, and then reinstall the hardware. Now we'll move back over to the driver's side and reinstall the bracket for the exhaust onto the new hardware. All right, now we'll go ahead and start installing the hardware at the end of the frame.
We'll take one of the handle nuts, bend it into kind of an "S" shape, and we'll take our handle nut and install it through the slot on the side of the frame, to line it with the hole that we've drilled out. Then we'll install the 1/2-inch bolt, and the lock washer from the bottom and do it on both sides of the frame. Okay, and now we'll move on to our last fastener on our passenger side, we'll fish wire the carriage bolt and the square block on the inside frame. Then we'll have two more square blocks underneath the hitch and then the lock washer and nut. Alright, if all our hardware is loosely installed, then we'll go ahead and tighten down all our bolts, then torque them down as specified in the instructions.
With that, that will finish the install for part number 87410 from Hidden Hitch, on our 2001 Pontiac Montana.

You can see here at the bottom of the frame, we have two bolts holding the exhaust hanger onto the frame. We are going to lower those down and those are going to provide our two rearmost attaching points. And just forward of that, there is a fascia support that is held in with another bolt. And we are going to remove that bolt as well and that will provide our third attaching point. If you go to the vertical side of the inboard part of the frame, you can see we have a hole here. That is going to provide our fourth attaching point. At this location, we are actually going to fish wire a 7/16 carriage bolt, along with the carriage block, into position. 0:42
