Today on this 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck we are going to install part number 73600 from CIPA. This is their extendable trailer towing mirror. To begin our install the first thing we need is roll down the window itself. Then we have to start removing the inside trim panel. There are a few fasteners but it will not be too bad to do. We will work our way from top to bottom on this. We are going to start off with this screw right here and work our way down. The next thing we need to do is remove this panel. This will just come out for now and we are going to take our trim panel removal tool and go underneath the edge and pry it up. 00:37
Disconnect the wiring from the panel. Push the little button in and it should come apart. We are going to remove this screw right here. Then, to remove this handle, there is another bolt that goes right through here that holds the handle on. Then there will be two screws on the bottom and we should be able to pull our panel loose. Next thing we are going to do is remove the nuts that hold the original factory mirror in place, these three right here. We are just going to leave this loose for now and then while we are here lets disconnect our electrical plug too. Keep one hand on the mirror and we will reach in and remove the rest of our hardware. We will reinstall in the same spot as the original came out. 01:28
The mirror comes with new hardware so we will install that on the stud. We will plug our wiring harness back into the new mirror. Now we will reinstall the trim panel and basically reverse all of the previous procedures. That will just snap back into place. We will try our left mirror since we installed that first. We have got left and it is going to the right. Up and down. Our mirror checks out, now we will show you how to extend them. Basically grab a hold of the mirror itself and just pull straight out. You can pull as little or as far as you want. With that, that will finish our install of part number 73600 from CIPA.
Longview Custom Towing Mirrors Installation - 2006 Dodge Ram
Today on our 2006 Dodge Ram pickup, well be test fitting the Longview Custom Towing Mirrors, part number CTM3100B. This will be a pair, one for the driver and passenger side.First we'll go ahead and install our mirrors. To install the mirror, we'll take the drivers side mirror and slide it onto and over the manufacturers mirror, lining up the inner edge of the mirror with the groove in the manufacturers mirror.Once into position, we'll take the hold down hook, feed it from the front side of the mirror towards the back going through the rear hole cut out in our custom towing mirror and then securing it with the hand knob.Now with our mirror installed, its fully customizable and can be adjusted as necessary to fit your vehicle and trailer.Now we'll go ahead and repeat the process on the passenger side.With both sides installed, thatll complete the test fit of the Longview Custom Towing Mirrors, part number CTM3100B on our 2006 Dodge Ram pickup.
CIPA Custom Towing Mirrors Installation - 2006 Dodge Ram
Today on our 2006 Dodge Ram Pickup, well be tests fitting the Cipa Custom Towing Mirror on the driver side, part number 10701. First well need to setup the Cipa Custom Towing Mirror before we install it. Well take our protective cover and the shoe removing the protective on the two-way adhesive and adhering to the shoe. This will prevent scratching of the mirror. Now were ready to go ahead and install it. Well take the housing, slide it over the manufacturers mirror while installing the shoe on the backside. This will create a wedge effect between the new custom towing mirror and the manufacturers mirror.
CIPA Custom Towing Mirrors Installation - 2003 Dodge Ram 2500
Today on our 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 well be installing the CIPA Custom Towing Mirror for the drivers side part number 10701. This will work in conjunction with the passenger side part number 10702. Now all well need to do to install our custom mirror is simply slide it over the factory OEM mirror and then using the wedge well lock it into place. Once the wedge is in place, well simply use the knob on the back of the mirror to tighten it down and secure our wedge and that will do it for our CIPA Mirror on our 2003 Dodge Ram 2500.
