Today on our 2012 buick enclave we'll be test fitting the Thule vertex 4 bike carrier part no. TH9029. A quick note about this carrer, it will fit both inch and 1/4 and 2 inch hitches class 1 through class 3 although when using with a class 1 hitch you are limited to 2 bikes. Our vehilce is equipped with the 2 inch hitch so we're ready to go ahead and fit it to the vehicle. We will simply slide the bike rack shank into the hitch. We will line up the hitch pin hole and insert our anti-retal bolt.
We can then tighten it down with the wrench. With our bike rack secured to the vehilcle, we'll go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance is 17 and 1/2 inches and from the closet point of the bike rack to the vehicle is 6 inches. Now we will go ahead and gain cargo access. We will need to pull the hitch switch on the bike rack and unfold it, we can then open the trunk and as you can see we can gain full cargo access with this bike rack.
We're now almost ready to load our bike. All we will need to do is pull the hitch switch at the top of the bike rack and open up the caring arms, we can then undo the cradle straps to expose the cradles. We will then simply set the bike into the cradles and bring the straps around the top bar and see post to secure our bike to the bike rack and there you have jsut like that our bike is loaded and we're ready to hit the road.
