All right today on this 2010 Volkswagen Jetta, we're going to do a test fit of part number TH9029 from Thule, the Vertex 4 Bicycle Rack. A few things about this bike rack that it is designed for inch and a quarter receiver hitches both class one and class two. However, if you're using a class one receiver hitch like we are today, you're limited to carrying just two bicycles. This will also work with two-inch receiver hitches with the included spacer. Well start off our test fit by installing the bike rack into the hitch, and then we'll go ahead tighten down the anti-rattle bolt. Then we'll go ahead and get a couple of clearance measurements.
At its closest point from the bike rack to the bumper, we're looking at a distance of two inches. Ground clearance looks like it's 8 inches. All right, now we'll go ahead and tilt the bicycle rack using the switch at the bottom and then we'll go ahead and check for access to the back of the vehicle. It looks good. Now we'll go ahead and unfold the bicycle rack using the switch on top, and we can go ahead load up the bike.
Before we load up our bike, we'll make sure that the straps are out of the way for the cradles we're going to use. Then we'll load up our bike. We'll reinstall the anti-sway part of the cradle and strap that the c-tube and then to go ahead and run the straps over the top tube. Those are the few steps that are needed to load up the bike. With that, that'll finish it for our test fit of part number TH9029 from Thule, the Vertex 4 Bike Carrier, on our 2010 Volkswagen Jetta..
