Today, on this 2010 Lexus RX350 were going to do a test fit of part number TH9029 from Thule. This is the Vertex bike carrier. A few things to know about this bike rack, that it will work with inch-and-a-quarter receiver hitches, both class I and class II. When you do use this bicycle rack with a class I receiver hitch, youre limited to carrying just two bicycles. This will also work with a 2-inch receiver hitch with the included spacer, and thats what were working with today. Well start off our test fit by installing the bike rack into the hitch, and then well go ahead and tighten down the anti-rattle bolt.
Then, well get a couple of clearance measurements. From each bike rack to the bumper as its closest point will be 2-3/4 inches. Ground clearance will be 14 inches. All right, now, well go ahead and tilt the bike rack back and check for access to the back of the vehicle. All right, that looks good, and now well go ahead and load up a bike.
First off, well unfold the bike rack arms. Then, well make that the straps on the cradles were going to use were out of the way. Well also make sure that the anti-sway part of the cradles are tilted towards the center. Then, we can go ahead and load up our bike. Well balance it out on the cradles.
Well swing the anti-sway part of the cradle back down to the seat tube of the bike. Well strap that down. Then, well run the two remaining straps over the top tube of the bike. Then, we'll load up our bike, balance it out, and then re-install the straps over the top tube of the bike.That's all it takes to load up a bike.

From the bike rack to the hatch clearance is going to be 4-1/2 inches.
