Today on this 2012 Hyundai tuscon, were going to be test fitting a Thule roof rack. Well be using the square 58 inch load bars, the Thule traverse feet along with complete kit designated for the vehicle. We already have our crossbar assemblies put together and now were ready to go ahead and fit them up on our vehicle. First thing we need to do is open both of the front doors on our tuscon. With both doors open, well go ahead and set the front crossbar assembly up on top of the roof of the vehicle. To position the front load bar, well need to measure 11 and inches from the edge of our windshield seam to the leading edge of the traverse feet on both sides of the vehicle.
Next well take the Acutight tools and tighten down the system, well move back and forth from drivers side to passenger side to make sure we tighten down this system evenly and dont lose our position. Remember on the Acutight tool the line on the green portion needs to line up with the line indented in the grey. With the front bar assembly tightened down were ready to move onto the rear. Well place the rear assembly up on top of the roof of the vehicle. To position the rear bar, we need to measure 24 and 3/8th inches from the center of the front bar to the center of the rear bar.
This is known as the crossbar spread. When you make sure the measurement is 24 and 3/8ths on both the drivers side and the passenger side, to ensure that our bar runs parallel with the front bar and that its in the proper position on our vehicles roof. With the rear bar in position, well go ahead and tighten it down, the same way we did the front. After we finished tightening down the rear bar, our Inaudible 00:01:23 and were ready to use it. Next were going to go ahead and give you a quick measurement so we can show you how much height weve added to the roof of the vehicle.
Weve added about 4 and inches from the top of the roof to the top of the new load bars. And thats it for our test fit of our Thule roof rack with the 58 inch square load bars, the traverse feet and the appropriate fit kit for our 2012 Hyundai Tuscon.
