Today on this 2011 Kia Soul, we are going to be test fitting a Thule Roof Rack. We will be using the 50 square load bars, the traverse feet, along with the fit kit for this particular vehicle. We already have our load bar assemblies put together, and now we are ready to go ahead and mount them up on the vehicle. The first thing we need to do is open both the front doors. In order to position our front bar we need to measure from the edge of the windshield seal to the leading edge of the traverse feet. We need to set this measurement at 10-1/2.
Now that we have our front bar positioned we can go ahead and begin tightening it down. We will take the included Acu-tight tools and well move back and forth from the passengers side to the drivers side to make sure that we tighten down the system evenly. With our front load bar assembly in place, were ready to move on to the rear. Again we will need to open both of the rear doors to mount the rear bar. To position the rear bar we need to measure our crossbar spread.
Thats from the center of the front bar to the center of the rear bar. This measurement needs to be 30. You also want to reference this measurement when you go to purchase accessories for your roof rack. Check the instructions of the owners manual for whatever accessories you might be using, and make sure that a 30 crossbar spread is acceptable. We will use the same method for tightening the rear as we did in the front.
With our rear bar tightened down our installation is complete and our roof rack is ready to use. And that does it for the test fit of our Thule Roof Rack with 50 square bars and traverse feet on our 2011 Kia Soul.
