All right on this 2009 Hyundai sonata we are going to do a test of a Thule roof rack system we will be using traverse foot pack with the square load bars part numbers TH480, THKIT1388, THOB50. Okay, we are going to start off our test fit with the roof rack already reassembled according to the instructions. All we are going to do is to put it on the roof of our car. We'll start with our first cross bar going towards the front we will put it on the roof and we will go ahead and measure out and slide into the correct spot. Now we're going to measure from the edge of the windshield to the leading edge of the foot pack. Now always go by your instruction, however in this case this distance will be 9 inches.
Okay you want to take a second to make sure it sits evenly from left to right as well. Now you can go ahead and move on to the second cross bar, we will basically repeat the same process however we will make from the center of the first cross bar to the center of the second cross bar. In this case that measure will be 26 and 3/8 of an inch. okay we will go ahead and tighten it down the roof rack to the car. Now each of the foot packs contain a tool to help tighten it down it also has a built in torque cage to make sure it has a proper tension.
we will start up to making sure that fit kit will catch the edge of the roof properly and then we can go ahead and snug them down. Anyway as we tighten them we want to alternate back and forth to make sure the tension is even on both sides. Okay our roof rack is fully installed all right we will go ahead and get one more measurement for the height that is added to the car. That measurement is 4 and 3/4 inches and with that that will finish it for our test fit of Thule traverse roof rack on our 2009 Hyundai Sonata.
