Today on our 2012 Nissan Altima we'll be test fitting the Thule AeroBlade Roof Racks System part numbers THARB47, TH480R and THKIT1580. Now, our roof rack is already preassembled according to the instructions found within the fit kit so were ready to go ahead and fit it to the vehicle. Well begin by placing the front crossbar on top of the roof. We then need to do a measurement. We'll measure from the top of the windshield back on the roof 10 inches. This will be the location of the leading edge of the front foot for the front crossbar.
And with our front crossbar in the correct location according to the Thule we can go ahead and clamp it down using the included torque tool within each foot. And with the front crossbar secured to the vehicle we can now move to the rear crossbar. Again, we'll simply set the rear crossbar on top of the roof. We will need to do another measurement. This time measuring from the center of the front crossbar to the center of the rear crossbar, we want this to be 28 inches.
This will help you put the crossbar in the correct location as well as make sure that it is parallel with the front crossbar. And with our rear crossbar in the right location we can now clamp it down using the torque tool included within each foot. And with the rear crossbar secured to the vehicle our roof rack system is fitted and were ready to load our accessories. And that complete our test fit of the Thule AeroBlade Traverse Roof Rack System on our 2012 Nissan Altima.
