Today on our 2012 Dodge grand caravan well be test fitting the Thule rapid traverse roof-rack system using part numbers TH480R,THKIT1043 and THARB53, quick note on this roof-rack system, you can use either the 53 inch or the 60 inch cross bars depending on your needs, well begin by fitting the front cross bar well set the cross-bar on the roof and well do a measurement from the top of the windshield back on the roof 27 inches, this will be the location of the leading edge of our front cross-bar, with our cross-bar in place well go ahead and open the doors as it will clamp to the door openings, with our front cross-bar in the correct location as stated by Thule we can go ahead and torque it down and now that our front cross-bar is secured we can go ahead and move to the rear cross-bar again well set it on top of the roof, this time well measure from the center from of the front cross-bar to the center of the rear cross-bar this will give us the correct cross-bar spread as stated by Thule. Our measurement will be again 27 inches therefore ensuring that our cross-bars are parallel by doing that measurement we can then torque them sown using the same procedure as we did with the front cross-bar and with our rear cross bar secured our roof-rack systems fitted to the vehicle and were ready to load our accessories and that does it for our Thule rapid traverse roof-rack system using part numbersTH480R, THKIT1043 and THARB53 on our 2012 Dodge grand caravan.
