Honda Civic Roof Rack

Installation of a Thule Aeroblade Traverse Roof Rack on a 2007 Honda Civic

Today, we've got a 2007 Honda Civic Sedan and we're going to be test fitting a Thule Roof Rack System. We'll be using their 60-inch AeroBlade Bars, part number THARB60, the Rapid Traverse Feet, part number TH480R as well as the Feet Kit for this vehicle, part number THKIT1425. We already have our roof rack assembled according to the instructions so now we're ready to fit it up on the vehicle. The first thing we need to do is open the front passenger and driver's side doors. We'll set the front bar assembly up on top of the roof and then we can position it. To position the front bar, we need to measure from the edge of the windshield to the leading edge of the traverse foot on either side.

This measurement needs to be 10-5/8 inches. Once we've done that, we can use the included tools to tighten down the feet and secure them to our roof. With the front bar mounted, we can move on to the rear. Again, we'll open both the rear doors. We'll place the rear bar up on top and to position the rear bar correctly, we'll measure 27-1/2 inches from the center of the front bar to the center of the rear bar.

We'll make sure this measurement is the same on both sides. This measurement is also known as the crossbar spread. Take note of this measurement so when you go to choose accessories, you can make sure they'll fit on your roof rack. With the rear bar tightened down, our roof rack is installed and we're ready to start mounting accessories. That's it for our test fit of the Thule Roof Rack System on our 2007 Honda Civic Sedan..

Yakima Roof Rack Fairing Review - 2012 Honda Civic

Today on our 2012 Honda Civic sedan, we'll be test fitting the Yakima 44" fairing for roof rack cross bars, part number Y07048. Now with the roof rack system already assembled onto our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by first undoing the black wing nuts and silver bolts from each end of the fairing. We can then place the clamps over the front cross bar, and replace the silver bolts with the black wing nuts on each end of the fairing and tighten them down, which will secure the fairing to the cross bar. It is important to make sure that the fairing is centered onto the vehicle to help with the aerodynamics of the fairing. And that concludes today's test fit of the 44" fairing for Yakima roof rack cross bars, part number Y07048, on our 2012 Honda Civic sedan.
