Today on our 2008 Subaru Legacy GT with 215 / 45 R17 tires, well be test fitting the Thule Self-Tensioning Low Profile snow tire chains part number TH00023090. First well lay out the chains and make sure everythings in order. Then well take the blue plastic coated cable side and feed it around the inboard of our tire. Well lift it up to the top of the tire and hook the cable stop back into the keyhole. Well connect these two pieces of chain together here. We can move out a couple lengths to take out some extra slack in the chain and well use this plastic clip to secure the excess then we can center the chains on our tire.
Next well take the ratcheting cable and feed it through the ratchet pulley system. Well connect it through our tensioner and the chain will start to tension itself. Next, well drive a little bit to let the chain self-center and self-tension properly against the tire. With that done, our chains installed and were ready to hit the roads. And thats it for our test fit of the Thule Self-Tensioning Low Profile tire chains part number TH00023090 on our 2008 Subaru Legacy GT with 215 / 45 R17 tires..
