All right. Today on our 2010 Honda Fit, we're going to do a test on a part number TH917XTR from Thule. This is a T2 Platform-Style Bike Rack. Okay. One quick note about this bicycle rack. That will work 1"-1/4 receiver hitches for both Class 1 and Class 2.
Okay. We begin our test by installing the bike rack into the hitch. We'll install the anti-rattable and put lock on the other side. All right. With the bike rack installed into the hitch, we'll give you some measurements like ideal clearance between the bicycle rack and the car.
From the rear wheel on the bike rack to the bumper, we're looking at about 5/8ths of an inch clearance. Ground clearance by the hitch is going to be 7-1/2". Now we'll go ahead and tilt the bicycle rack back down to level and we'll give you one more measurement at the very end. All right. It looks like clearance at the back of the rack is going to be 14-3/4".
All right. Now go ahead and show access to the back of the vehicle. That looks good and it clears the bike rack. All right, next we'll go ahead and start loading up our bike. For a second what we'll do is make sure your straps are all the way for the rear wheel and we'll make sure with the clamps for our front wheel are rotated outwards and extended out.
All right. When we load up the bike, we'll go ahead and put the front wheel into the rear wheel and then go ahead and run the clamp over top and bring it down as close to the front brake as possible. For the straps for the back wheel, we'll go ahead and slide it underneath wheel at the very bottom and then run the strap through and tighten it down. Okay. In just a few steps, our bike is ready to load up and ready to go. Now we'll go ahead and test one more thing. We can actually take the bicycle rack and tilt it down towards the ground. One more step and we'll check for access to the back of the wheel one more time. That looks good. And when we open up the hatch, we had about 2" gap between the handle bars and the edge of a tailgate. Okay with that, that will finish our test of part number TH917XTR from Thule on our 2010 Honda Fit.
