Alright, today on this 2006 Mazda 5 we're going to do a test fit of Thule Roof Rack System. We're using the Thule Podium Roof-mounted Foot Pack and Thule Square Load bars part no. THLB50, TH460, THKIT3080. Okay to start off our test fit we're going to remove the covers for the 6 points that are on the roof. They basically just slide and we pop them up out of the way. Next we'll go ahead and start the threaded rod that comes with the fit kit from Thule into to the provided threaded holes in the roof.
With a roof rack loosely assembled according to the instructions we'll go ahead and place it onto the threaded rod that we installed into the roof. Now we'll go ahead and tighted down 2 screws that are on the side at the base. Now we'll lock the cross bar to the foot pack. Okay, now we'll go ahead and install our covers. Okay, first half of the roof rack is installed, now we'll go ahead and move on to the second half repeating the same identical steps.
Okay with our roof rack fully installed, we'll go ahead and get ahead and get the measurement on how much height is added to the roof line and this measurement looks like 4 1/2 inches. With that, that will finish it for a test fit of a Thule roof rack system on a 2006 Mazda 5 with a Thule roof rack.
