Today on this 1999 Lexus RX300, were going to be test fitting the Thule Hitching Post Pro, Part # TH934XTR. To mount our bike carrier to our vehicle, the first thing we need to do is remove the adapter sleeve which we have already done. Well take the shank of the bike rack and insert it into the receiver tube of our hitch. Well line up the hitch pinholes then well start to tread in our anti rattle bolt and we'll tighten it down with a 3/4 inch wrench. Once we've done that, we're going to check for rear vehicle access. Well remove the pin at the base of the rack and tilt it down.
Well open the hatch of our RX300 and make sure we can still access the cargo area. With that done, we'll go ahead and return the rack to its upright position and take some clearance measurements. Weve got about five inches of clearance from the closest point of our bumper to the closest point of the bike rack. Weve got about 13 3/4 inches of ground clearance in the bottom of the bike rack to the ground. Weve added about 15 inches of overall length to the rear of our vehicle when the bike rack is folded arms down.
Next well remove the pin at the top of the rack and fold the arms out so we can begin preparing to load a bicycle. One do the rubber stripes of the cradle closest to the vehicle. Well pick up our bike and fit it over the arms of the bike rack and set it down in the cradles that weve just opened then well take the rubber straps and secure them around the frame of the bike. Thule Parkway 2 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2000 Lexus RX 300
Today on our 2000 Lexus RX300 well be test fitting the Thule Parkway 2 bike carrier for 2 inch hitches, part #: TH958. With our bike rack already preassembled and our vehicle equipped with a 2 inch hitch well go ahead and slide the bike rack shank directly into the receiver tube of the hitch lining up the hitch pinhole. Then well install and tighten down the anti-rattle bolt. This is what our bike rack will look like when its installed on the vehicle. With our bike rack already preassembled and our vehicle equipped with a 2 inch hitch we can go ahead and slide the bike rack shank directly into the receiver tube of the hitch, tightening down the anti-rattle bolt. With our anti-rattle bolt tightened down you can see it really takes out any movement between the bike rack and the vehicles. From the nearest point of the bumper to the nearest point of the bike rack is 8 inches.
Thule Doubletrack Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2000 Lexus RX 300
Today on our 2000 Lexus RX300 well be test fitting the Thule Double Track platform style 2 bike carrier for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches part #: TH990XT. With our bike rack already preassembled and our vehicle equipped with a two inch hitch we can go ahead and slide the bike rack shank directly into the receiver tube of the hitch lining up the hitch pin hole and installing the anti-rattle bolt. As you can see with the anti-rattle bolt tightened down it really takes out any movement between the bike rack and the vehicle. Next were going to give you a few measurements. From the nearest point of the bumper to the nearest point of the bike rack platform it is 3 inches. With the bike rack installed in the stored position it adds an additional 12 inches to the overall vehicle length and from the lowest point of the bike rack we have 13 and a quarter inches of ground clearance.
Thule Apex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2000 Lexus RX 300
Today on our 2000 Lexus RX300 well be test fitting the Thule Apex 4 Bike carrier for inch and a quarter and two inch hitches part #: TH9025. With our bike rack already preassembled and our vehicle equipped with the two inch hitch well go ahead and slide the bike rack shank directly into the receiver tube of the hitch, lining up the hitch pinhole using the integrated hitch pin lock. Alright, with that done this is what our bike rack will look like in its stored position. Next well go ahead and give you a few measurements. From the nearest point of the bumper to the nearest point of the base of the bike rack is 3 inches. With our bike rack installed in the stored position we add an additional 13 inches to the overall vehicle length.
Swagman XTC2 Wheel Mount Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2000 Lexus RX 300
Today on our 200 Lexus RX300 well be test fitting the Swagman XTC 2, two bike carrier for inch and a quarter and 2 inch hitches part #: S64670. With our bike rack already preassembled and our vehicle equipped with a 2 inch hitch well go ahead and slide the bike rack shank directly into the receiver tube of the hitch and tighten down the anti-rattle bolt and safety clip. With our bike rack installed this is what itll look like in its stored position. Now well go ahead and well give you a few measurements. From the nearest point of the bumper to the nearest point of the platform of the bike rack is 5 and a half inches. With our bike rack installed it adds an additional 21 inches to the overall vehicle length and from the end of the bike rack we have a 17 and a 3/8 inches ground clearance.
