Alright, today on this 2011 Dodge Caliber, we're going to do a test fit of part number TX970XT from Thule, the Helium 2 Bike Carrier Rack. A couple of quick notes about this bike rack, this will work with 1-1/4-inch receiver hitches both class 1 and class2 and has also worked with 2-inch receiver hitches with the provided spacer. Ok, we'll start off our install by installing the bike rack into the hitch. I want to install the safety pin. It's key to install it and then give it a 90-degree turn. We'll pull back, put some tension on it, and then tighten down the anti-rattle bolt.
With the bike rack installed, we'll get some clearance measurements. It looks like from the bumper to the bottom of the bike rack, it looks like 2-1/2 inches. Ground clearance looks like 11-1/2 inches. Ok, we'll go ahead and tilt the bike rack and show access to the back of the vehicle. Ok, it looks good.
Now, let's go ahead and unfold the bike rack arms and load up the bike. Ok, to load up a bike, first thing we want to do is to make sure the straps are out of the way for the cradles that we're going to use and we'll also make sure that the anti-sway part of the cradle is moved towards the inside. When we set our bike on the cradles, we'll bounce it out and then we'll slide the anti-sway part of the cradle down to the C-tube. We'll strap it down, then run the straps over the top tube. Ok, that's all it takes to load up the bike.
Alright, with that, that will finish it for our test fit of part number TH970XT from Thule, on our 2011 Dodge Caliber.
