Alright today on this 2001 Honda CR-V, were going to do a test fit of Thule bicycle rack, part number TH970XT. This is their Helium aluminum 2 bicycle rack. A couple quick notes about this bicycle rack, this will work on 1-1/4 receiver hitches, class one and class two. This will also work with the 2 inch receiver hitch with the included spacer. Okay let us go ahead and get started. We will go ahead and install the bike rack into the hitch.
We will put in the safety pin, it is keyed, so we will insert it, turn it 90 degrees, we will pull it back, and tighten down the anti-rattle device. Alright next we will give you some measurements that will give you an idea of clearance between the bicycle rack and the car and the ground. Alright from the latch at the bottom of the bike rack to the spare tire is going to be about 5 inches, and ground clearance will be 14 inches. Now the door swings out on our Honda so we know that it is not going to clear the bicycle rack. We will go ahead and lower the bicycle rack; it does tilt out of the way and see what that gives us.
Alright at this point we can go ahead and load up a bike. We will unfold the arms, and we will go ahead and loosen up the straps for the cradles that we are going to use. Okay and it looks like we have our bike already loaded up in just a few easy steps. Okay with that that will finish it for our test fit of Thule bicycle rack part number, TH970XT on our 2001 Honda CR-V.
