Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Sonic, we'll be test fitting the Thule Doubletrack Platform Style 2 Bike Carrier, part number TH990XT. Now to begin our test fit, we'll slide our bike rack shank into the hitch, line up the hitch pin hole, and install and tighten down the anti-rattle bolt. With our bolt tight, our bike rack is secured to the vehicle. Now, we can go ahead and give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 10-1/2 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to the back of the vehicle is 4-3/4 inches. We'll now go ahead and pull the hitch switch here just in front of the platform to allow the platform to fold down.
We can then open our trunk, and as you can see, we can gain full access to the cargo area with this bike rack. We're now almost ready to load our bike. We'll need only to make sure that the wheel mount straps are undone and out of the way and that our vertical bar is up with the vertical bar clamps completely extended. We'll place the bike into the wheel mounts and bring our top bar clamp down over the top bar of our bike, securing our bike to the bike rack. We'll move back down to the wheel mounts where we'll put the straps through the wheel and secure them on the other side.

Today on our 2013 Chevy Sonic, well be test fitting the Yakima DoubleDown Ace 4 Bike carrier, part number Y02451.
