Today we have with us the Thule Doubletrack Platform-Style Bike Carrier, part number TH990XT, and well be test fitting it on a 2007 Honda Pilot. To mount the Bike Carrier to our vehicle, well insert the shank of the rack into the receiver tube of out hitch and line up the hitch pinholes. Well thread in our anti-rattle bolt, snug it down with the -inch wrench and secure it on the opposite site with a lock. Next, were going to check some clearance measurements. Weve got about 4 inches of clearance between the farthest part of our vehicle and the closest point of the bike rack. Weve got about 14 inches of ground clearance from the bottom of the rack to the ground; and overall, weve added about 11 inches of length to the vehicle.
Now, were going to tilt the bike rack down, and make sure we can still have access to our cargo area with the bike rack installed. Next, well lift up our upright mast and lock it into place. Well make sure the ratcheting arms are open all the way and well undo the wheel straps at the wheel cradles. Well pick up our bike, place it in the cradles and secure the frame of the bike first with the hook. Once we done that, we can go back and use the wheel straps to secure the wheels.
With that, our bike is all loaded up and were ready to hit the road. That does it for our test fit of the Thule Doubletrack Platform-Style Bike Carrier, part number TH990XT, on our 2007 Honda Pilot.

The closest part of the carrier to the closest part of the vehicle here at the vehicles cargo door is about 11 inches. Weve added a total of 24 inches to the overall length of the vehicle.

To access the cargo area, well lift up the red pin at the back of the carrier to tilt the mast down; this will allow us to have access to our cargo door.

Now with the carrier secured to the vehicle well go over a few clearance measurements to see how the bike carrier and this vehicle will fit together. There is about 19 of ground clearance; the closet part of the carrier to the closet part of the vehicle here at the rear bumper is about 5-1/2. With the cradle arms folded down weve added about 14 to the overall length of the vehicle. Well then go ahead and pull the gray lever at the top of the mast to swing the cradle arms out and well measure form the vehicles cargo door to the end of the carriers cradle arms and well get a measurement of 45.
