Alright today on this 2011 Vokswagon Touareg were going to do a test fit of Thule Roof Rack System. We are going to be using part number th450 Crossroads Roof Rack Adapter and their square load bars. Now we have our load bars already pre-assembled according to the instructions, and we left them loose until we finally install them on the factory roof racks. We will take our first one and go ahead and set it on the roof rack towards the front. Now to keep our bar square on the vehicle we will measure from a known point on the roof rack, and then well measure out to the leading edge on the foot pack. Okay now that we know the roof rack is square, go ahead and make sure it is correct left and right.
Now the dimensions will vary from the roof rack according to the accessories that you will use on top of it. We will go ahead and tighten down the Thule Roof Rack to the factory crossbars. Run the strap up to the latch, and we will go ahead and tighten it down with a tool thats included in the cap. Alright now well go ahead and install our second cross rail just like we did from the front one, but we will go ahead and measure off our first crossbar to make sure the second one is square. In a few easy steps the roof rack is already installed.
Now we will give you one more measurement to give you an idea that ads to the overall height of the vehicle. We will measure from the top of the factory roof rack to the top of the Thule Crossbar, and that measurement will come out to 2-1/2. And with that it will finish it for our test fit of the Thule Roof Rack System with the crossroads foot pack, and the Thule square bars on our 2011 Touareg.
