Today on our 2007 Pontiac Torrent well be test fitting the Thule crossroads roof rack system using part #: th450 and #: thlb50. With our crossbars already preassembled were ready to go ahead and fit it to the vehicle. Well begin by simply setting the front crossbar in a place over the side rails, well line up the small black triangle on each of the feet directly over the side rails. Well then use the rubber coated steel straps to bring it around and hook it to the foot pad. We can then use the included tool within each foot to tighten down and secure the crossbar. With our front crossbar secured to the vehicle were now ready to move on to the rear crossbar.
Again, well set the crossbar on top of the side rails, well also need to remember to line up the triangles directly on top of the side rails. In order to get the correct placement of the rear crossbar we will need to do a measurement. Well measure from the center of the front crossbar to the center of the rear crossbar. Thules recommended maximum crossbar spread is 16 inches, so well go ahead and use that measurement. With the rear crossbar in the correct location as indicated by Thule, we can go ahead and tighten it down using the same procedure we did with the front crossbar.
And with the rear crossbar secured, our roof rack is fitter and were ready to load our accessories. One quick note: be sure to keep the crossbar spread in mind when shopping for your accessories. And that will do it for our test fit of the Thule crossroad roof rack system using part #: th450 and #: thlb50 on our 2007 Pontiac Torrent.
