Today on this 2010 Mazda CX-9 we're going to do a test fit of the Thule Crossroad Roof Rack using the AeroBlade bars. Now we have our bars preassembled and we'll be fitting them to the factory rails. You want to check the documentation that came with your roof rack for proper placement of the load bars that you're using. Also depending on the kit that you're going to use, you want to check the documentation for proper spacing. For our test fit we'll be using a generic measurement. We'll put our crossbars into place and run the straps underneath the factory rails and then back up to the catch on the other side.
Alright, now that our first bar is in place well go ahead and go on to our second bar and do the same thing again. Typically you want to want to measure from the center to center on the bars depending on what accessories youre going to use. We've got our load bar situated on the vehicle where we want, now we'll go ahead and check to make sure they're even left and right. Now on the Crossroad Foot Pack it actually has a mark on the outside which is intended to line up with the center of the bar that you're attaching to. Ok, next, we'll go ahead and tighten everything down.
The cover also includes a tool that tightens everything down when you're done, the tool stores inside the foot pack. Next, we'll give you a measurement that will give you an idea of how much height was added to the vehicle. Measuring from the top of the factory roof rack to the top of the AeroBlades we're going to add about 2-1/2 inches. And with that, that will finish it for our quick test fit of the Thule Rapid Crossroad Foot Pack and the Thule AeroBlade Crossbars on our 2010 Mazda CX9.
