Alright on this 2008 Pontiac Vibe, we're going to do a test fit of Thule Roof Rack System. We will be using a Thule Rapid Aero Foot Pack and a Thule AeroBlade Load Bars 47 inches wide. Okay, we're going to start off with our test fit with our roof rack already assembled according to the instructions. So what I'm going to do is put it on the factory roof rack. We'll start of by placing the load bar in the center of the factory roof rack where there is most room and then we'll go ahead and slide it up towards the front. To make sure that our load bars are square, we'll measure from the edge of the factory roof rack to the center of the foot pack on both sides.
Now, in this case we'll be using a measurement of 3 inches. Now this measurement can vary according to the different types of accessories you can put on top of the roof rack. Once we have it squared, we will go ahead and take the endcaps off and run the straps into the clips on the other side. And at this point we can go ahead and tighten them down. The tools built into the cap so we can just tighten it down and then reinstall the cap.
Our first crossbar is in place, we'll go ahead and move on to the second and repeated the same steps as before except we'll measure off the center of our first load bar to the center of our second load bar. In this case, we're going to be using measurements of 21 inches. When we put the foot back onto the factory rail, there is a small arrow on the foot pack and you want to align that arrow with the center of the factory roof rack. And with that our roof rack is fully installed. Now we'll go ahead and give you a measurement of the added height and that measurement is 2 1/2 inches.
Okay and with that, that will finish it for a test fit of a Thule Roof Rack System on a 2008 Pontiac Vibe.
