Today on this 2011 Nissan Rogue we are going to show you how to install a Thule Crossroad roof rack system. The Thule Crossroad system is designed to attach to vehicles with factory raised side rails like we have on our Rogue. Once we have the crossbars assembled, we can place them on top of our side rails. Make sure that they are spaced evenly on both sides with the side rails so that the crossbars run perpendicular to your vehicle. Once you have the front crossbar in place, you can use the integrated tool on the end cap to tighten them down. The Crossroad feet attach to the factory side rails using a rubber coated steel band. This band will strongly and securely grip your side rails but the rubber coating will help protect them as well. As we tighten down the clamp on the Crossroad foot, it also tightens the crossbar into the foot. We will move back and forth from the driver side to the passenger side to make sure the rack tightens down evenly and we do not lose our positioning. 0:57
Once we have the front crossbar in place, we can install the crossbar in the rear. Thule recommends a maximum crossbar spacing of 40 inches from the center of the front to the center of the rear. So, we are going to make sure that we fall within this range. You also have the options to install the Thule one key lock system. These knockouts can be removed and you can install lock cores that will secure your roof rack to the side rails of your vehicle. And that does it for the Thule Crossroad roof rack system on our 2011 Nissan Rogue.
