Thule Apex 4 Hitch Bike Rack Review - 2012 Chevrolet Colorado

Review of the Thule Apex 4 Hitch Bike Rack on a 2012 Chevrolet Colorado

Today on our 2012 Chevrolet Colorado we'll be test fitting part number TH9025 the Thule Apex 4 Bike Carrier. Now to begin our test fit we'll simply slide the bike rack shank into the hitch, we'll pull the integrated locking hitch pin on the bike rack and slide the shank the rest of the way in. The locking hitch pin will slide into the hitch pin hole when it reaches that point. After giving the bike rack a slight tug we'll go ahead and tighten down the anti-rattle knob on the back of the bike rack securing it to our vehicle. Now we can go ahead and pull the hitch switch at the bottom of the bike rack mast and open our tailgate. And as you can see, we can gain full access opening the tailgate completely with this bike rack.

Next we'll go ahead and pull the hitch switch at the top of the bike rack to bring out our dual arms. We can then undo the straps exposing our cradles where we'll place the bike into the cradles and bring the straps around securing it to the bike rack. At this point we'll give you a few measurements. Our ground clearance at the bike rack is 16-1/2 inches and the anti-rattle knob is 4 inches from the bumper. And there you have it.

Our bike is loaded and we're ready to hit the road. And that completes our test fit of part number TH9025 the Thule Apex 4 Bike Carrier on our 2012 Chevrolet Colorado.
