Today on our 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Apex 4 Bike Carrier, part number TH9025. With our vehicle equipped with the 2-inch hitch and our bike rack already preassembled we can go ahead and slide the bike rack shank directly into the receiver tube of the hitch and line up the integrated hitch pin lock. Then we'll use the hand knob to secure the bike rack to the vehicle. As you can see, with the hand knob tightened down, it really takes out any sway or rattle between the bike rack and the vehicle. This is what our bike rack will look like in its stored position. Next we'll go ahead and take a couple of measurements.
From the nearest point of the bumper of the vehicle to the upright of the bike rack is 9-1/2 inches. In its stored position the bike rack will add an additional 12 inches to the overall vehicle length. The lowest point of the bike rack, we have 13 inches of ground clearance. Next, let's go ahead and check for rear cargo access. Using the flip switch at the base of the rack we'll tilt it away from the vehicle and check for rear cargo access.
As you can see with the bike rack tilted away from the vehicle, we can still gain plenty of rear cargo access. We'll use the flip switch at the top of the mast of the bike rack to extend the carrying arms. With the arms up and locked in position we'll go ahead and remove the hold down straps to set our bike directly into position. Alright, with our bike in position we'll go ahead and use the hold down straps to secure it. And there you have it, in just a few simple steps we've gone ahead and secured the bike to the bike rack and the bike rack to the vehicle.
And now we're ready to hit the road. And that does it for our test fit of the Thule Apex 4 Bike Carrier, part number TH9025 on our 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe.
